Jewellery care.

How to care for your new jewellery from Klára Šípková?

1. Remove your jewellery before manual work and sports.

This simple measure will prevent scratches, mechanical damage, or contamination.

2. Store your jewellery safely, separately in a box or jewellery box.

Never store multiple pieces of jewellery together. This is the only way to prevent them from scratching each other or suffering mechanical damage.

3. Clean your jewellery regularly.

Stainless steel and gold are relatively easy materials to clean – all you need for maintenance is lukewarm water with a little dishwashing liquid and a soft cotton cloth or a very soft toothbrush. Clean the jewelry with a cloth or brush, then dry it. As for silver, use a product designed for home cleaning, which you can buy at a drugstore or household goods store. Gold-plated silver can also be cleaned with a product for colored metals – soak the jewelry in the product for a short time, remove it, rinse it under water, and dry it thoroughly. Abrasives, toothpaste, hard paper towels, and wet wipes are absolutely unsuitable for cleaning jewellery.

4. Do not expose gold-plated, rhodium-plated, or blackened jewellery to various liquids – these surface treatments are not permanent.

Special care should be taken when coming into contact with chlorinated and salt water, creams, perfumes, hairsprays, and other cosmetics. Also avoid contact with cleaning products and other chemicals.

5. Avoid contact with aggressive substances when wearing pearl jewellery.

Pearls are very delicate and can be easily damaged. They must not be exposed to high temperatures and should not come into contact with any chemicals or cosmetics. I recommend following the procedure of putting on pearl jewellery last and taking it off first.
